Bio
I work as a html/ php/ perl developer for UFindUs (A much-maligned search directory & 'web design' company in Lancaster, UK). I play games to get over/ ignore the monotony of life.

I created this blog because of two things. The first is that the company wanted a blog that they can use to put a more human face on the company, not just some crazy ++ or hideous -- site. Just day-to-day recollections of the fact that we are a nice, sensible, well meaning company. The second is that peer pressure is an arse. People have been at me for bastard ages to blog this, blog that, why haven't you got a live journal, if you had a live journal, then we'd know what you were doing and you'd know what we were doing... BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Fact is I don't get on too well with blogs, I've had a blog before and it really didn't work. I just don't want to talk about my feelings & don't have the time to devote to typing them up. But I know that people want to read them. So I'm hoping that the focus provided by having the company blog to maintain postings will tide over the personal side of this when I really don't want to, or just plain forget to, write shit down.

Couple of things to rememebr though. This is my personal blog. This means it's got what I think in it. Not what the company thinks, or what the company wants me to think, and anything I write should not be taken as the opinion of the company, nor as an indication of the operating status of the company. I'm not going to go around diclosing customer's information, but I'm not candy-coating stuff either. The chances are that at some point an operative of the company, or one of the disgruntled customers (or ex-customers) will read this, so I want to make that one clear from Day One. Sometimes I will take a pop at the company, sometimes I will take a pop at customers, sometimes I will take a pop at teh world or anything else. We all have bad days when we want to kill everything. We have good days too, and both come and go in cycles. I like doing what I'm doing, else I wouldn't be doing it, so don't let a couple of angry posts throw you. READ THE BLOG, not the post.

Last thing. I'm a programmer, I write stuff in plain text. If it has typo's, I don't care. If I've spelt 'thier' wrong, I don't care. That is what F7 is for, if and when it needs it. I'll try to rememebr to do it to long posts which actually matter.
